University College Cork ~ Chaplaincy

At the Chaplaincy in University College Cork (UCC), we are here to offer a listening ear, to support you and to help you during these valuable and formative years.

At Iona, the Chaplaincy Centre on College Road, you will find a warm welcome! We invite you to relax with friends in the lounge, get information on Chaplaincy events or spend quiet time in the Prayer Room.

The Chaplaincy is ecumenical, and includes representatives of the four main Christian Churches in Ireland- Catholic, Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and Methodist, and is open to people of all faiths and traditions or none. There is a full time Church of Ireland Chaplain but the position is current vacant.

There is a weekly Church of Ireland Eucharist in the prayer room in Iona, and there are a variety of Ecumenical services held in the Honan Chapel.  Nearby, St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral also provides for the spiritual well being of students and staff of UCC.

Here is a sample of what we do throughout the year:

  • Free Tea & Coffee all day
  • Multi-faith celebrations
  • Volunteering Information
  • Coffee Mornings
  • Discussion Groups
  • Book Club
  • Bible Study
