The beautiful seven panel triptych icon at the Chapel of Christ the Healer, Cork University Hospital was writte by Romanian iconographer Catalin Balut. It is called “Jesus the Healing Lord of All” and depicts scenes of healing from the life and ministry of Jesus on both side panels.
The left panels depict
- Jesus raises Jairus’ daughter
- Jesus heals a blind man
- Jesus heals a man with a troubled spirit
The central panels depict
- Jesus Christ the good teacher
- The Resurrection of Jesus
The right panels depict
- Jesus blesses little children
- Jesus heals ten men from leprosy
- Jesus heals a paralysed man
The icon was blessed by the Bishop at a eucharist on St Nicholas Day, 2012.
